The Beach House (I HOPE)

I have found the beach house I want to rent and have the wedding and reception at.  It is located in Orange Beach and it's absolutely beautiful.  It sleeps 17 comfortably, I have about 18 including wedding party and immediate family staying so that works out well.  I am wanting to drive up and look at it before we make our final decision.  If we do get this beach house our wedding date will be May 21, 2011.  Here are a few pictures.

The Cake, Flowers, and Possible Centerpieces

I am doing a traditional white cake.  I want it to be pretty simple with green orchids.  If you have never heard of Couture Cakes in Daphne you should check them out.  It is one of Clark's good friends that owns the shop.  She does an amazing job.  I am looking into her doing my cake and I sent her a few pictures of what I am wanting.  I imagine she can do just about anything.
Option 1

Option 2 with green orchid flowers not these.

 Option 3

 Option 4 Possibly my favorite.

 Option 5

What is your favorite?

FLOWERS
I am going to do my flowers myself.  I am ordering from the flower exchange.  Anyone who is getting married and needing to save a little money in some areas do your flowers yourself it saves a fortune.  Here are my flowers.

My bouquet will be pretty close to this.

bridesmaids flowers like this but smaller.

something like this on the tables.

CENTERPIECES

 Something like this on tables.

 or Possibly like this.

My colors are going to be green bridesmaids dresses with yellow flowers (possibly some aqua in there).  The men are either going to wear a linen suit or linen pants with button up shirts.

Engagement Pictures

I got a new camera the Nikon D3000.  I have been wanting one for a really long time.  I am so excited to have it finally, I was like a kid on Christmas morning when I bought it.  My best friend Brittanni, whom is also one of my bridesmaids, went with me and Clark this Saturday to take our engagement pictures.  She used my camera to take them, and we got lots of great pictures.

Bridesmaid Dresses

I started looking for bridesmaids dresses the day that I started looking for a wedding dress.  I have found quite a few that I like, and I made sure that I took my sister a long to put her input on them, since she will be one of the bridesmaids wearing the dresses.  Here are a few I looked into that I liked.

This one is at Alfred Angelo

This one is at June's Brides too, not for sure about it.

I like this one it's from Jasmine Bridal and it's a Belsoile dress, love it.

BACK

This is the one I love and we are going to go try on at June's Brides.

I'm really excited, I will let you know when we make a decision!

Wedding Dress Shopping!

I went wedding dress shopping for the first time a few weeks ago.  I went to Bridal Bliss in Homewood first, then I went to Alfred Angelo.  I fell in love with a dress at both shops.

This is the dress I liked at Bridal Bliss.

This is the Alfred Angelo dress I liked.

I decided to go over to June's Brides and try some dresses on there.
I fell in love all over again.  Here are a few I liked from Junes.

They had explained to me that they were getting in a whole new collection of destination dresses in a few days.  Therefore, I decided to not make up my mind that day.  I have plenty of time to find the perfect dress.  I then went to David's Bridal and had the worst experience ever.  I will suggest to anyone do not go to David's Bridal over by the galleria.  They acted like they didn't want to help me, and they were rude to us.  I had a way better experience at the other shops.  On a really positive note, I went back to June's Brides this past Saturday.  I tried on a great deal of dressed and found the one.  I got measured and placed the order.  It is amazing how much buying the dress made it all feel so official.
